Naming Journey
From Concept to Reality
As a young boy, I had the annual privilege of traveling with my grandfather, Earl E. Hanway, on road trips between Wyoming and California. Through these and many other choice experiences, I heard and saw first hand the hard work, dedication and perseverance he brought to all his endeavors. He was politically active and involved in the community, but family mattered most.
With a quick wit and endearing sense of humor, along with a visionary creative mind, strong work ethic and resilience, his businesses prospered and clearly established the Hanway tradition of ingenuity that has spanned across industries including owning and operating a newspaper and eventually to capitalizing and running the largest privately owned lumber company in North America. I have strived to continue this legacy that has for generations, become synonymous with the highest integrity and innovative, quality products.
